Android Technology and Ethical Hacking Program : 16th December to 23rd December 2016. One Week Program was planned for the students of Third Year MCA collaboration with Hertz Technology. It was planned as Four-day hands-on sessions on Android Technology and two day workshop on ethical hacking.
From 16th December, the session commenced at sharp 10.00 am. Profile of Mr. Atul was read in the inaugural function by Prof. Rahul Wantmure. After the inaugural session, the charge was given to Mr. Atul to conduct the workshop.As the sessions were planned, the workshop was conducted with practical exposure on each topic. It was shown practically how a hacker can inject a bug in a mobile and get hold of the contact list from mobile in just 30 seconds. Later, the concept of hacking was discussed.
SAS Training : on 28th May 2016 to 23rd July 2016.NCRD’s Sterling Institute of Management studies in collaboration with Cognizant Technologies conducted training on SASfor third year MCA and second year MMS students. Training focused on Base SAS (Statistical Analysis System), how to use SAS softwarefor advanced analytics, multivariate analysis, business intelligence, data management, and predictive analytic. The training was also intended to improve industry academia interface for enhancing placement activities. The company conducted the interview for the batch of students who attended the training and selected students were placed in Cognizant Technology solutions in the month of July 2016.
Quantitative Aptitude : from 4th July 2016 to 18th July 2016.NCRD’s Sterling Institute of Management studies organized this workshop for MCA students. Aptitude is one of the most important parts of competition exams and job interviews. Prof. Megha Wankhade focused on topics like Average, Problems on Numbers, Ages, Percentage, Profit and Loss, Ratio & Proportion, Partnership, and Work Time etc
Career Companionship (Communication Skills) : The objective of the Soft Skills Training was to give each student a realistice perspective of work and work expectations, to help formulate problem solving skills, to guide students in making appropriate and responsible decisions, to create a desire to fulfill individual goals.
Language Lab : A language laboratory is a devoted space for learning English language where students can access audio or audio-visual materials. This language lab software allows a teacher to listen to and manage student audio, which is delivered to individual students through headsets. The program was designed to cater the need of language skills of the students. It helped the students in many ways to improve their verbal and non-verbal skills. It emphasized on Listening & Speaking skills and Reading & Writing (LSRW) skills as well- the most effective methodology used for learning languages. As students can review lessons in text/audio/video formats, it provides for quicker learning to them. The in-built alert options for clarifications with the teacher in private avoiding inhibitions and it encourages easy learning for shy students. The another benefit delivered through this workshop is highly effective listening, speaking, reading and writing skills are developed with access to advanced material in text, audio and video formats. Another feature of effective group discussions for easier and effortless learning of languages has been explained through this session.
Modular features of Language lab were discussed in this session. It comprised of administrator interface, instructor interface, student interface, parent interface, management interface. All these were explained in lucid manner and emphasize was given on- student interface which limits accessibility to submission of assignments and receiving scores instantly. Rests of the features were- viewing lessons, exercise, instant scoring, assignments, homework etc. also explained.
Communication Skills : This session aims to acquaint the students with Communication Skills as it has a significant impact on Personality. To train students on how to participate in an effective group discussion, interacting with others and likewise and gain the maximum points in the limited amount of time put toward them.
Prof JenefaRao guided students with various skills like Verbal, Nonverbal, Group discussion, Presentations and Resume writing.
Session was conducted as per the schedule in month of December 2016. Session was very informative.
Basics in MS-Office Certificate cum Training Program : Immediately after the completion of their semester examinations, the students of First Year MMS and MCA enrolled for the add-on course “Basics in MS-Office Certificate cum Training Program”. It was an eight days schedule of four hours per day. As proposed in the academic calendar, the course was designed to overcome the difficulties faced by MCA students while working on the documentation for their assignments and projects and by MMS students while working on data handling.
Accordingly, a schedule was planned to cover the basic knowhow of the MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power point. The setup of the laboratory was made ready by the technical staff. The sessions were conducted in computer laboratory nos. 202 and 203 by Prof. Seema Bhuvan and Prof. Mayur Malviya respectively. Workshop on “Communications and Telephone etiquette” : Two Days Workshop on “Communications and Telephone etiquette” was organized on 12th and 13th January 2017. Dr. Arjita Jain (Professor, MMS) and Prof. PragatiGoel (Asso. Prof., MCA) were resource persons. Workshop was attended by 8 non-teaching staff members. Participants understood importance of communication, learned about how to communicate effectively and telephone etiquettes.
Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis & thesis writing : Faculty Development Program on “Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis & thesis writing” was organized on 6th and 7th January 2017. Dr. SachinKamble, Associate Professor, National Institute of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai was resource person. Total 38 faculty members from different institutes participated. Dr. SachinKamble guided researcher’s right from the selection of research topic to thesis writing along with qualitative and quantitative data analysis by giving hands on experience on SPSS.
One Day Workshop on Campus to Corporate : NCRD’s Sterling Institute of Management Studies (SIMS) had organized a One Day Workshop on 30th January, 2018. Students from SIMS and Sterling Institute of Pharmacy (SIP) attended the workshop. The workshop was organized to guide the students to get into corporate world, to make them aware of one being an entrepreneur what are the probable challenges and to enhance the soft skills and body language of the students.

One Day Workshop on Decision Making and Mathematical Modeling : A One day Orientation Program for MCA semester II (CBCGS) for the Course MCA205 - Decision Making and Mathematical Modeling was conducted on 9th February 2017 at NCRD’s Sterling Institute of Management Studies, Nerul. It was in collaboration with University of Mumbai. Faculty members of other MCA institutes were invited for the program. Total 15 Faculty Members from other MCA institutes participated in this program. In orientation, the unit wise syllabus was discussed. Syllabus contents and question paper pattern was also discussed and weightage of various modules was decided.

The training was conducted by Ms. NishaChandak is a Life Coach Management & Behavior-skill Trainer, Psychometric analyst Clinical hypnotherapist Career Counselor, Parenting Expert Reiki Grand master, Energy Healer, Trainer for Corporate, NGOs, Schools and Colleges. She had conducted more than 200 programs related to Personality Development in various campuses and at corporate level.The event was later addressed by Mr. Stephen Moras her colleague. SEMIANR ON TIPS FOR EXAM PREPARATION : on 12th April 2018 The Department of MCA, thus, organized a seminar on 12th April, 2018. The seminar titled “Tips for Exam Preparation” was arranged for the FY and SY MCA in room No. 404. The session was conducted by Mr. Vidhu Sharma, from ChinmayMisssion, Vashi. The workshop started as scheduled at 12.20 pm. Miss. SimranShinde (FYMCA) did the inaugural anchoring. Session on CV Writing & Interview Skills : The Session on CV Writing & Interview Skills was held on 8.1.2018 by BEC. Details and scope of Cambridge English: Business Preliminary (BEC Preliminary) was shared at length. Ms. SurbhiBhuva led the session. She guided the students for preparing their CVs and gave tips on ‘How to crack an interview.’
Intra Collegiate Essay Competition : It was conducted on 22nd August 2017. The objective of this competition was to enhance the creativity of the students and to provide them to express their views on given topic. 143 students participated in this competition. Assessment was carried out by faculty members keeping various criterions like creativity, adherence to topics, grammar, punch lines etc. Top 3 winners were awarded with cash prizes.

Seminar on asp.net - model view and control : A seminar was organized for TYMCA on 4th Aug 2017 for the TYMCA students. This seminar was organized by SQUAD Technologies, Nerul, under their annual CSR activity called “GEMS”. Ms. PriyankaPawar was the guest person. She delivered the seminar on ASP.NET - MVC.
Madam explained the use of MVC and how it is helpful to make the coding easier. She also explained through an example which she taught the students in the session. Overall, it was a very nice session. The students gained knowledge on the topic which will help them in their learning ahead.
Workshop on Financial and Tax Planning : Workshop on “Financial and Tax Planning” was organized on 4th October 2017. Mr.RupeshNagada was resource person. 4th Sterling Minithon : Sterling Minithon was started in the year 2014. It is the initiatives of our trust National Center for Rural Development. It had races in various categories ranging from 1 Km to 10 Km Thane District Athletics Association on Sunday, 05th February 2017. Medical Partner for the Marathon was Apollo Hospital, while Food Nectar and Shriji Printers were the Beverage Partners. Sakaal served as the Media Partner for the event.

Flag Collection Day : The National Flag of our nation is of great significance to all Indians as well as the GovernmentIt was our observation that on National Days like Independence Day or Republic Day, we all salute to our National Flag and we all remain in patriotic devotional feelings. To save the pride of our nation MMS and MCA faculty members conducted a flag collection drive early in the morning along with 25 student volunteers collected national flags from the nearby areas of sector 19, Nerul and Seawoods Darave Railway Station, Nerul Railway Station. Looking at the students and faculty members picking up flags few commuters on the roads also contributed towards this mission.
Blood Donation Camp : Blood donation is important because maintaining an adequate blood supply in our community secures adequate supply of blood in blood bank. This activity was conducted in association with Regional Blood Bank St. George Hospital, Mumbai. As the availability of blood is always short, so it is our moral responsibility and Institute Social Responsibility to support the cause. Director of the Institute Dr. Kamal Tandon inaugurated the activity. More than 70 students, teachers and Non-Teaching members donated blood. Snacks were given to volunteers and donors as a token of appreciation.
Independence Day : Our institute celebrated this auspicious day with great enthusiasm and pride on 15th August 2015.For this programme, Dr. Kamal Tandon, Director of NCRD’s Sterling Institute of Management Studies was the chief guest and hoisted the flag at ground floor at 7.30am. Blood Donation Camp : As a member of society, it is our responsibility to always do something which will help the needy one. With same mission “Blood Donation” camp was organized by our institute in association with Lokmanya TSSIA Blood bank, Thane. Dr. Prashant Gundawar , Director - SIMS inaugurated the event and talked about “Blood Donation-Need of hour”. He explained the importance of blood donation and replenishment of new blood in our body. We collected more than 150 bottles of blood. Students, Teachers, Staff voluntarily donated blood. A team of 8 doctors have worked hard for smooth functioning of the activity.
Independence Day : NCRD’s Sterling Institute of Management Studies celebrated 70th Independence Day to pay tribute and remember all the freedom fighters who had contributed and fought for the Independence of India.The chief guest of the event Shri Avinash Shinde, Treasurer, NCRD hoisted the National Flag and all the staff and students sung National Anthem. Dr. Kamal Tandon, Director of the Institute spoke on the occasion and requested the students and staff to contribute towards the environment by planting a tree and nurture it.

Republic Day : SIMS witnessed the celebration of the 67th Republic Day on the 26th January, 2018. Staff and Faculty members filled with a feeling of patriotism and dedication gathered in front of the building. The celebration started with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Director, Dr. Kamal Tandon followed by the National Anthem.
JOY OF GIVING : On 20thJanuary 2018 joy of giving activity was organized by NCRD's Sterling Institute of Management Studies, Nerul celebrated with the staff member. The main objective of the event was to Inculcating the spirit of giving back to the community and creating compassionate and selfless bond with the children. Sterling Brunch Fiesta 2018 : FNCRD’S Sterling Institute of Management Studies organized ‘Sterling Brunch Fiesta 2K18’ on 31st August for the second time and received a very good response for the same. A total of 21 stalls were set up with variety of food items like Burgers, Pizza, Pasta, Chaat, Cold Coffee, Lemonade etc.
A team of Judges (Mr. Kapil Kumar, Mrs. Amrutha Prabhu Desai from Apeejay Institute of Hospitality) for selection came from outside to grade the dishes on the basis of taste, originality, Oral Presentation, Visual Presentation, Hygiene and Attire.
Teacher’s Day 2018 : “Gurur Brahma Gurur Vishnu Gurur Devo Mahesh Varah Guru Shakshat Para Brahma Tasmai Shri Guruve Namah”. We celebrate Teacher’s day every year and this day is dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The students felicitated the teachers by presenting small bouquets of flowers as they expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the teachers. The Director NCRD’s Sterling Institute of Management Studies, Dr. Prashant Gundawar spoke about the significance of Teacher’s day. As the speech concluded, the cultural program began which included the dance performance, a comedy and skit performed by students.
Gender Sensitivity Seminar :NCRD’s Sterling Institute of Management Studies has organized seminar to spread awareness about gender sensitivity and Cyber Ethics.A seminar was informative and an eye opening, As Mr. Abishek Cliffort focused on social issues like Human Trafficking ,Female Feticide, Aids, Child Abuse, Woman Health, Abortions ,Couple relationship. Everyone was numb when he shared current figures about social crimes related with Women.
He explained how we can practice being anti-porn by installing Parental Software. He also described how good is our Indian culture which suggests us to be loyal with one partner in whole life.
Garba Raas : All the participants had gathered in the institute’s auditorium in colorful traditional Attires. The delightful sight of energetic boys and girls swirling in graceful rhythmic garba and enthusiastically playing Dandiya evoked admiration among all present there. Traditional Garba music, along with some Bollywood songs kept everyone glued to the dance floor all throughout the end of the event. A strong bond was visualized between teachers and students. At the end of the Event, there were prizes distributed for dance and best costume in both male and female categories.

‘Annual Day Radiance – 2019 : Annual Day- “RADIANCE 2K19” is the activity that is conducted every year in the month of January to give exposure to our MMS and MCA students to show their talents through the different activities like Dance, Skit, Singing and Fashion Show etc.
Dr. Susy Kuriakose, Principal of Western College of Commerce and Management Studies, Navi Mumbai was the Chief Guest for the program. Dr. Prashant Gundawar, Director, SIMS proposed welcome address Fashion show was organized on two themes Bollywood and Colors of India. Fashion Show was judged by Mr. Kaushal Prakash (Contestant of Mr. India 2018) and Miss Pinky Agrawal (Fashion Designer). During the event the winners of various curricular and co-curricular were awarded with trophies, medals and certificates.
Intercollegiate Fest – Technitia : The MCA department organized Annual Inter-college Fest – TECHNITIA 2019. The whole objective was to promote and create a reputation of our college. TECHNITIA 2019 was a grant success as this time we had 660 students from 46 Post Graduation and Graduation colleges of Mumbai (covering suburbs, Thane, Navi Mumbai) who participated in the three days event.
Sterling Marathon : This is the 6th Marathon that symbolizes the spirit of “WE RUN YOU LEARN”. This year, the Marathon was held in collaboration with Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) titled as “Navi Mumbai Mayor’s Marathon” on Sunday, 3rd March 2019.
The main objectives of this marathon were:
Promote rural sports like Athletics, Kabaddi & KhoKho.
Develop Sports Culture to build Fitter & Healthier Future Generations of Nation.
Promote social cause of Healthy Lifestyle among masses
In this 6th Sterling Navi Mumbai United Run Marathon Students of various Schools, Colleges, Professional Runners and corporate teams, teaching, non-teaching staff as well as students form NCRD’s Sterling Institute of Management Studies participated and made this event a grand success.
Intra-Collegiate Management Festival Aarohan : AAROHAN --2019 was an intra-collegiate annual event. Where students from MMS has organized different fun field and management event for the all sister concern of NCRD‘s .This event was a array of Management games as well as Artistic work in which students showcased their hidden talents. For each event winners and runners up selected and they were awarded with cash prize and certificates. For AAROHAN right from poster designing to implementation of ideas and framing rules for each event has been coordinated by the students.
NCRD Champion Trophy – 2019 : NCRD Champions Trophy was started with an initiative to impart sports culture amongst NCRD institutes. The event was organized to develop healthy competition in all institutes of NCRD through sports like cricket, football, tug of war etc. Event was organized by MMS students, which gave them the event management skills. The event was first time inaugurated by a Member of Non-Teaching Staff Mr. Dnyandeo Jadhar as the Guest of Honor. All sports events were inaugurated by Non-Teaching Staff.
Blood Donation Camp : As a member of society, it is our responsibility to always do something which will help the needy one. With same mission “Blood Donation” camp was organized by our institute in association with Lokmanya TSSIA Blood bank, Thane. Dr. Prashant Gundawar , Director - SIMS inaugurated the event and talked about “Blood Donation-Need of hour”. He explained the importance of blood donation and replenishment of new blood in our body. We collected more than 150 bottles of blood. Students, Teachers, Staff voluntarily donated blood. A team of 8 doctors have worked hard for smooth functioning of the activity.
Traditional Day on 14th Feb 2019 : Traditional Day is observed as a celebration of India’s diverse culture, and is usually relaxed day at work. It’s a day designated for people to come in traditional attire from their home state, or specific culture of their choice. To make the traditional day more entertaining various interesting games were arranged for the teachers. Everyone displayed their various cultures by dressing their best which was a colorful treat to the eyes in itself.
Girl’s Personal Hygiene : This Seminar on “Girl's Personal Hygiene” was organized to guide the students about Menstrual hygiene. Dr. Madhukar Aayare delivered talk on “Menstrual and Personal hygiene”. He highlighted about personal hygiene during monthly periods and explained about various means available during menstruation and care to be taken for the disposal of sanitary napkins to avoid environmental pollution. He further added, “Most of the girls and women even after coming to city are not properly educated about sanitation and how to dispose waste materials”. He also explained about menstruations related pains and health issues and its treatments
Women’s Day : International Women’s Day (IWD), is celebrated every year on 8th March. It is a significance of social, economic, cultural and political accomplishment of women. On this day different games, activities and a motivational lecture by the Director was organized to appreciate the contributions made by women. All the faculty members participated enthusiastically. The session began with the Saraswati Vandana recited by faculty members followed by their active participation in various events like Group dance, Solo dance, Mono-acting and Singing. Moreover, their involvement in different events raised enthusiasm, zeal and joy in the environment and the faces of the participants filled with amusement and smile.
Workshop On Chitrakathi : Workshop on Chitrakathi through Eki-beki Association’ for the very first time and received a very good response from the students organized on 29th September 2018.The artisian first gave a Visual Presentation about the Chitrakathi history and various other aspects of this art. Later a hands-on session was conducted where the students learnt how to draw and colour chitrakathi pictures. This had Increased awareness about Indian art/handicrafts which is on the verge of disappearance for their perseverance, sustenance and growth and provided opportunity to students and teachers to develop skills which enhanced their bonding with the artists and the craft.

Marrow Bone Donor Awareness : On 15th November, 2018 bone marrow donation awareness session was organized and on 16th Nov. 2018 Registration of Donors was organized at campus. Dr. Clement from MDRI addressed the FY MMS and FY MCA students in their respective classrooms. Any person between ages of 18 to 50 years with good health can be a donor, it was totally voluntary drive. Death Anniversary of APJ Abdul Kalam Azad : Mr. Kalam served as India's 11th President from 2002 to 2007 and was popularly known as "Missile Man" after pioneering the country's military missile programme. Dr. Prashant Gundawar Director said that "Dr. Kalam would be long remembered for his passion for science and innovation and his contribution as an eminent scientist, administrator, educationist and writer”.

Gandhi Jayanti : A birthday anniversary of the Mahatma Gandhi is also celebrated as the International Peace Day all across the world. Kerela Flood Donation : The calamity had caused immeasurable misery and devastation. Hundreds of lives were lost. Thousands of homes were totally destroyed and many were damaged. Our students were very much aware and wanted to make a small contribution towards it. All the three years MCA students contributed and a small amount was collected which was later transferred to Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund.

Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan in Association with Shuddhi NGO at Belapur : On 2nd October 2019, the event day, the students inspected the areas in Belapur which needed to be given special attention. With teamwork and coordination, volunteers gathered the waste and garbage from the targeted area and handed over to the Mahanagarpalikka personnel.

Independence Day : NCRD’s Sterling Institute celebrated Independence Day on15th August, 2019 with great pomp and show.The teachers and non-teachingstaff gathered on the ground floor. The Chief guest of the day Dr. Ashok Patilhoisted the flag at 7.15am. After the flag hoisting ceremony, Dr. Ashok Patildelivered wonderful speech, he encouraged students and staff to become a good citizen. Dr. Prashant Gundawar, Director SIMS proposed vote of thanks.
